The Campus Life Committee focuses on student experiences relating to the campus climate by overseeing policies on athletic events, sexual assault prevention, alcohol and event registration, pre-orientation programs, social programming, social venues, campus arts initiatives and communities. It is committed to improving residential houses, residential assessment, residential programming, residential governance, and the community forum. The Campus Life Committee works closely with the Office of Student Affairs, the Dean of Students, the Duke University Athletic Association, the K-Ville Line Monitors, the Office of Undergraduate Education, Duke Dining and the Housing and Residential Life Office.

  • Establishing Duke University Safe Keepers (DUSK), a student group which aims to prevent sexual assaults that occur resulting from encounters at Shooters

  • Breaking the "Duke Bubble" by subsidizing student visits to various local venues and Durham businesses

  • Independent House Families, which connect rising sophomores with upperclassmen to strengthen to build cohesiveness and community in independent houses

  • 3D pictures of West Campus dorm rooms

  • Making a guide for international students to help ease their transition to Duke

  • New senator education to enable a smoother transition for senators

  • Building a Nap Map which features all the good napping spots on campus

  • Improving housing information sessions and access to housing information for students after freshman year

  • Creating a student organization cheat sheet to bring together key information about all student groups

  • Transparency Committee -- a searchable database of all of DSG's projects

  • Club Guide -- implementing changes to Duke Groups to allow for greater knowledge of the clubs on campus

  • Duke Rides -- getting better and cheaper rides back to campus through lyft or uber by collaborating with numerous universities

  • 360 Degree Dorm Photos -- currently working with HRL to incorporate them into the housing website

  • History of DSG -- working on compiling data since DSG's inception in 1993
